100 Money Saving Ideas For Your Wedding Part II

100 Money Saving Ideas For Your Wedding
How to save money on...

Photography - Videography:

Hire a professional photographer to shoot the main wedding photographs and order the smallest package.

Purchase “wedding camera’s” (disposable box camera’s) and put them on each table at the reception, have guests take pictures.

Have a close friend or family member hand out a few “wedding camera’s” at the ceremony to different guests (this provides you to see your ceremony from different angles as well).

Many experienced photography students will take pictures for class credit if you allow them to use your photo’s for an assignment and give you the negatives.

Consider having only the ceremony videotaped.

You may be able to go without special effects to reduce the price. Other associated links - Photographs

Receptions:

Consider a Friday night or Sunday wedding as ceremony/reception, or a morning or afternoon reception, since these times are usually available for a considerable discount.

Consider not having a dessert table.

Does a friend have a membership at a club, country club etc, and can get you a discount?

Have the reception in a friend or family members home or backyard.

Instead of an open bar, arrange for a no host bar.

Instead on a sit down dinner consider a casual brunch or barbecue (if appropriate.)

Reduce the size of your guest list.

Serve cocktails and hors d'oeuvres then your cake at a time that is not typically lunch or dinner, as opposed to serving an entire meal.

Transportation:

Use luxury cars instead of limos.

If a friend has a vintage car or something with class that would be appropriate, enquire if you can use it.

General Budget Advice

Consider your budget and thoroughly investigate reception packages available in your immediate area. The charges for an all inclusive sit-down dinner reception at a restaurant or hotel, or privately catered at a location which does not offer food services, can range anywhere from approximately $15 per person to $100 per person, including tax, tips and beverage. The package price will vary, depending on day of the week reception is held, time of the year, style of the party and menu selection.

Planning with your fiancee just what your budget will be is one of the first steps to planning your wedding. Decide on items that you will pay a little more for (such as splurging for the videographer) and items that you will be spend thrift with (have you ever really watched to see what happens to those favors you worked so hard on?).

During your planning you may find the need to adjust your original budget. This is the time to consider certain alternatives or compromises necessary to work within your budget. You may have a talented friend that can arrange flowers, try comparison shopping and creative ideas. Organized planning is essential for creating a perfect wedding no matter what size your budget. The type and style of your wedding may also be determined by your budget. If you have always dreamed of a large fairytale wedding, you may have to cut the guest list down. Or, if you want all your family and friends to share your wedding day, your budget may require that you plan a lovely informal wedding, possibly a spring afternoon in the garden.

Keep accurate records during your planning. Keeping track of what you and others have ordered, the total price, the deposit given and the balance that is due. Staying organized will prevent you from losing control of your budget and facing unpleasant last-minute surprises. 2become1weddings have many tools to help you budget successfully, which in turn will reduce the main factors causing stress!
