Typically the bridesmaids pay for their own gowns, the bride should take this into consideration when she is choosing a gown for them. The bride may choose a particular color and style of gown she prefers and then notify each bridesmaid of her choice. The bride should consider a style that will flatter each woman in her bridal party as well as keep the style of the bridesmaids gowns to the degree of formality of her own gown. Keep in mind that the back of the gown is what will be the primary focus to your guests during the ceremony; bows, buttons and the like are beautiful additions. If shoes are to be dyed, be sure that all shoes are taken to the same shop at the same time under the same order number to ensure they are dyed in a single lot. Hair ornaments are optional for the bridesmaids, but it is up to each bridesmaid how she will wear her hair, regardless of style of hair ornament. The maid/matron of honor may wear a gown slightly different from the other bridesmaids and/or her flowers may be a larger bouquet. If your bridesmaids are wearing floor length gowns to compliment the brides gown, be sure that they are hemmed one inch off the floor to prevent any mishaps during the processional and recessional.
