Wedding Attire Tips - The Groom and His Attendants
The attire for the groom and his attendants follow a basic pattern. When deciding on the degree of formality of the wedding, consider the temperature in which the wedding will be taking place. The groomsmen follow suit to what the groom will be wearing. Formal day clothes are appropriate for weddings scheduled before six o’clock. Evening clothes should not be worn during the daytime.
It is a good idea for the groom to choose his attendants attire. If there are groomsmen that live out of the area, ask them to send their measurements and shoe size so that the groom may order their attire. The best man may take care of organizing this for the groom. The attendants pay the fee for all rental items. Gloves are optional, considering time of day, formality of wedding and whether or not the bridesmaids will wear gloves.
If the attire has been rented, the bestman or close family member will arrange for the return of all rented items the first working day after the wedding has taken place.
If the groom is in military service he has the option of be married in his uniform. He will discuss this option with his bride. If all groomsmen are also in the military, they may also wear their dress uniform, this is only the case if all members are in the military. If there are military and civilian groomsmen in the wedding party, it is a better option for them to all wear civilian attire, as it will break up the appearance of the wedding party.
