Description:
Amaryllis -
Known as: Amaryllis, Naked-Lady Lily. The amaryllis, a semi-tender bulb, flowering outdoors during the frost-free months. The giant star-shaped flowers reflect the traditional name, star knight, and the family name, Hippeastrurn, literally "knight star." The tall, stout, hollow-stemmed stalk bears two to four large showy flowers ranging in color from red to pink to white and blends of these. Beautiful dark green, thick, fleshy leaves 1" wide and 18" long grow upward to surround the stalk.
