Description:
Mimosa, Silk Tree -
Often called "Mimosa-tree" because the flowers are similar to those of the related herbaceous sensitive-plants (genus Mimosa). Silktree leaflets fold up at night; those of sensitive-plants fold up when touched. Long threadlike pink stamens whitish toward base.
