We got engaged on January 24th, 2004. We were living in Slave Lake, Alberta at the time. We had some company from home staying with us,(Allister Simms, Myles Rideout, Matthew Roberts & Shane Simms) so we decided to go down to the mall for the day and look around. We 1st went into the Dollar Store (My Favorite store) Me and Corey were looking around together, I came across a fake rose that opened up, it had a cheap ring in it. I then said to Corey that it would be a cute place to put an engagement ring. And then that was the last thought of that. So off we went through the rest of the mall. Being the only girl, I went into a clothing store to look around. Unaware of where I was Corey and our friends ventured into the jewellry store ( I was actually in the store across from them) I saw them in there looking around so I took off for the next store so they couldn't see me. Afterwards when they came iuto the store they all had weird and strange looks on there faces. I was a little uneasy at this point and couldn't look either of them in the face. I asked him where they were too, he said "we were in the jewellry store getting a battery for Matthew's watch". I believed him, so we all did what else it was we had to do, cause I had to go home to get ready for work. So off we went back to the apartment. I was putting away the stuff I had bought at the store and noticed that everyone had "dissapeared". The I went into the room to see where Corey was and he wouldn't let me in and Allister jumped into the closet. Ok now this is weird I was thinking! A couple of minutes later Allister came out of the closet (LOL) came out into the kitchen where I was and told me to go into the room Corey wanted me in there. So I went in. When I got there he told me to shut the door and when I looked he had the Fake Rose in his hand ( at first I thought it was just a joke) The he got down on one knee and said "Will you marry me?" I was almost laughing at this point (because of the fake rose) but I kept it in and said yes and then opened it up and there was the ring. I was so shocked! Later that day he told me that he had gotten Myles or Allister (I can't quite remember who now) to go back and get the fake rose for him. It was a day I will never forget!
